I am researching online self paced virtual schools for my son. He was at a local public school which kept sending him home for Covid issues but overloaded teachers weren't getting him his assignments but threatening him with zeros and low grades. The office staff was not helpful and quite short with me as I tried to help get this situation rectified. I moved him to a classical academy. However, the teachings are so rigorous and the style of teaching is back to books & paper with no technology. Being almost 2 months behind, my son is really struggling and depressed at not being able to get caught up to their expectations. He feels depressed and is very intimidated. His love is sports and he wants to be able to partake in the rigorous trainings with some different teams. This virtual education would afford him the ability to do so. However, is he able to enroll and get caught up with it being October already? Is he able to miss a day of work, if he gets caught up, to go to trainings?
iSchool Virtual Academy is an accredited tuition-free, online public school for eligible students. It is similar to home-school, but we provide the curriculum. Students can work at their own pace, 24/7, with deadlines. All work is done from home except for State testing as the student will need to take this test in-person at one of our site locations. These locations will be assigned based off of your home address. Although we don't offer scheduled live classes, all teachers are online to help students from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday-Thursday, and 12:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Friday. If needed, we can provide a loaner Chrome book once a student completes the enrollment process. Since the school is self-paced, students that fail behind can catch up.
As long as your student meets the following requirements, your student will be eligible to attend.
